BOUQUET PRESERVATION FAQs & IMPORTANT INFO
1. How long does preservation take?
Once I've received your flowers, I set them aside to dry for two-three weeks depending on the type of flower. The resin process then takes up to 6 months to complete, with larger pieces or orders with multiple items taking longer than smaller pieces. I don't give an estimated date of completion as every order is unique, and handmade items can be very unpredictable! I know this seems like a long time, but as I work alone this is how long it takes.
2. How do I send you my flowers?
I accept flowers in the post or dropped off in person. At this point in time I do not offer collection unless you're within 30 minutes of my location. If you choose to post your flowers, I will send you a detailed guide to package them and post them safely.
3. How far in advance should I book my preservation?
Ideally bookings should be made roughly 6 months in advance. This ensures that there is space for me to preserve your flowers as I only take on a limited number of bookings each week. Please get in touch if you have left it late, as I may be able to fit you in depending on the date.
4. How should I care for my resin preservation piece?
Resin preservation pieces are solid and heavy, and care should be taken not to place them on a surface where they may fall and injure someone.
The surface of your resin piece can be scratched easily, so we don't recommend using them as surfaces to place things on.
Leaving your resin piece in direct sunlight can cause the piece to yellow over time. For this reason we don't recommend storing your piece on window sills or other areas which get direct sunlight regularly.
To polish or dust your piece, take a microfibre cloth and very gently wipe the surface. No cleaning agents are necessary, but if you spill something on the piece warm water should clean it well.
5. Will I be updated throughout the process?
I will try my best to keep you updated throughout, but the easiest way to see how your piece is going is to pop me a message via email. I answer my emails every day so will get back to you with updates and photos as soon as I can.
What materials are used for the earrings?
I use epoxy and UV resin to make my earrings, with real pressed flowers. For the metal fixtures of every pair you can choose between:
Gold plated hooks
Silver plated hooks
925 sterling silver hooks (higher silver content)
Gold filled hooks (higher gold content)
How should I care for my resin item?
Resin is lightweight, and robust, however there are a few things that it would be best to avoid. Some things to keep in mind are:
Exposure to high temperatures and sunlight
Exposure to water
Exposure to direct flames
Exposure to freezing temperatures
How will my order be packaged?
All of my orders are sent with gift wrapping, meaning no extra gift wrapping option is needed. Any gift messages will be included in the parcel. No prices are included in the packing, so orders can be sent straight to the recipient as a gift!
When will my order be shipped?
Everything in my shop is made to order, by hand. This means that my processing time is 3-5 days for most items.
How long does shipping take?
At the moment, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, shipping times are very delayed. UK orders can take a few weeks, and international orders are taking up to and potentially over a month. For this reason, refunds for missing orders will not be given until one month has passed from the dispatch date.
